So the government wants to extend the school leaving age to eighteen.
Gordon Brown must be bonkers. Are all those frustrated teenagers who have been kept at school against their will for an extra two years, and those whose education is going to be disrupted by them, going to vote for him when they leave said school at eighteen?
If I was sixteen again and looking forward to the sixth form without the bullies, the thickos and the disrupters, an announcement from the government that these general pains-in-the-arse would be joining me would make my heart sink.

Pirate Radio
Today, 14th August 2007, is the fortieth anniversary of the demise of offshore radio in the UK. At 3:00pm on this day in 1967 Radio London closed down, leaving only Radio Caroline to fight on.
Thanks to Pirate BBC Essex (!), the era has been re-created from a boat off the Essex coast, and is closing down at 3:00pm.
